Science & Such I know the cropping is terrible.,I tried.... :( and I don't have all of the students projects because it was chaos as it should be with 27 6-7 year olds.
Field Trip Fun
Dr. Seuss Week. I am not sure if your child told you about all the fun activities that we did that week but we were super busy being creative, reading and having fun. We build towers, made hats, oobleck, and churned butter.
Soaring Eagles; Congratulations.
100 Days Of School. I love this class!!!! Nice work.
We spread our germs throughout the classroom. The kiddos washed their hands but not well enough to get rid of all of the germs. Lesson learned..... wash your hands for 20 seconds.
Molar Man came for a visit. He taught us about how important it is to properly brush our teeth. We soaked eggs in coke, vinegar and red punch. We scrubbed the stains of the eggs pretending that it was the enamel on our teeth. We also looked at the inside of the egg after the vinegar wore away the enamel.
STEM CHALLENGE No snow means there must be a shortage of snowflakes. Our mission was to work with a partner to design and then create a symmetrical snowflake using the materials provided. Many students took the completed project home before I was able to snap pictures, but here are a few in the designing phase. |
Polar Express Day!!
Clouds in the classroom? Absolutely! We filled our clouds with blue water and once the cloud couldn't hold anymore water it began to rain. Super fun.
Math Night. Fun with my kiddos and their parents.
Halloween!!! (Early)
Halloween Day Fun. Investigating pumpkins and Frankenworms.
Community Helper Skits.
We love reading in groups and math centers!
All work and not play? Not in first grade.
Art- Making beehives and bees as part of our community helpers week.
This is what cooperation and caring looks like in first grade. We play games!!The rules were simple, you must cooperate to work as a team and use kind words. We had over, under, a balloon game, three legged races, and a hula hoop game.

To the left the coloring pictures are quite amazing. I put a picture up on the whiteboard and told the class they needed to re-create the drawing using only one color of crayon. For example table 1 was green, 2 blue and so on. The students had to color only the parts of the picture that had their color. Imagine trying to put apples on a tree that doesn't exist yet. They did such a great job. VERY PROUD.
